Dr. Rosa is the founder and principal investigator with a focus on leading expeditions in the most extreme and remote parts of the Amazon Rainforest to unite indigenous wisdom with modern science to preserve biodiversity and culture. This work takes places in partnership with indigenous community leaders, local and international scientists, environmental lawyers and artists.

National Geographic Explorer

Dr. Rosa is a National Geographic Explorer since 2019 and actively collaborates with various arms of the organization to lead scientific expeditions around the world and give keynotes on education, exploration and sustainability.

In addition to her roles, Dr. Rosa is an affiliated researcher and faculty at UPC in Lima, Perú, providing mentorship and collaborating in microbial-related research, antibiotic discovery and science communications.
